Courses Overview

Training ranges from 1 to 4 days of intensive training delivered on-site at your company or at an agreed venue.

We take a Descriptive not Prescriptive approach.

Prescriptive = A list of facts. Follow this list of commandments. But what to do when you encounter something that isn’t on the list?

Descriptive = Here is the underlying theory. Here are a set of tools and mental models to help you THINK about and analyse any problem. A swiss army knife rather than a hammer.

We don’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach.

You may have express interest in PCB design for EMC success, or in a particular Electrical Safety standard. All of our courses are customised to meet your specific needs.

Attendee Feedback

“Thanks James, it is not always possible to say this about training especially on dry subjects like compliance, but we did really enjoy it and more importantly came away with a renewed confidence in what we are doing. You were able to create two bespoke sessions for us which hit all the points we needed. Your depth of knowledge and real-world experience seem to have no end, even when faced with products as complex as ours and your enthusiasm for your chosen field was plain to see throughout.” GW (Intro to Compliance, EMC and Safety, 2 day custom course)

“The course went very well and James was excellent all throughout the week. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate about EMC. Everyone learnt a lot during the training and truly enjoyed it.” AF (Product Design for EMC)

“The obvious passion that James has for the subject of EMC came across strongly in the training. He presented ways of looking at situations that help you understand what’s going on without getting bogged down in too much theory…along with the excellent demonstrations this really brought what can be a dry subject to life. I definitely left the training with a much better understanding of the pitfalls that await a product design that has been undertaken with little consideration of the potential EMC issues.” CH (Product Design for EMC)

“Thanks again for the training you did for us last week.  We all found it very useful and enjoyed it!” PL (Fundamentals of Design for EMC)

“I feel more confident making design decisions, before I would have just done things without understanding why…” MH (R&S Talk “We Need to Talk About Ground”)
